Burger King first opened in Miami in 1954. There are nearly 18,000 Burger King locations in the world. Burger King went through a number of ownership changes over the years. In 2014, Burger King Worldwide merged with Tim Hortons to form Restaurant Brands International.
Bonus Biscuit – Why are some Dairy Queen signs feature the word “Brazier”?
A brazier is a charcoal grill and was selected as the name for DQ® stores offering burgers in 1957, when one of our Territory Operators worked to develop a food system that would work for all DQ® restaurants. The term ‘Brazier®’ itself was the result of a brainstorming session with his advertising agency.
