The Answer
No. The X in Xmas is a historical Christian representation of Christ.
It may be assumed that Xmas was created by atheists or secularists to take Christ out of Christmas. That doesn’t seem to be the case.
The first use of Xmas dates back to the mid-16th century.
It was first used in the mid-1500s. X represents the Greek letter chi, the initial letter in the word Χριστός (Chrīstos). And what does Χριστός mean? “(Jesus) Christ.”
Using X (chi) to represent Christ dates back much further.
Both Xmas and XPmas had been used in the past as a shorthand for Christmas.
So, Merry Christmas everyone. Enjoy the celebration of the birth of baby X.
